I love cake. Delicious, moist, wonderful cake- chocolate, italian cream, I love them all. Cake that shoots fire and lights up, even more so- so I love the Ace of Cakes folks. Duff Goldman is a giant amongst cake-men.

(He also plays a mean bass. He looks so innocent, doesn’t he? Not like anyone who would EVER wish my husband would break his hand so Duff had to fill in on a Clutch tour. Haveta watch this to get it.)

That’s OK Duff, we still love you. We know you keed.

So imagine my joy when the baby shower I attended this weekend featured a Charm City Cake. Not one of the technical numbers, but an incredibly lovely brown three layer with a Pistachio Cardamom Layer, and two Carrot Cake layers.

Here are some pics, cause I KNOW I’m not the only mama out there with a cake jones- I took the bottom layer of carrot home, much the joy of my small children, and may or may not have eaten it for dinner and breakfast. SO.

What’s your absolute favorite kind of cake? Mine has to be my mom’s Italian Cream, followed closely by my mom’s Lemon Chiffon with Coconut, and the third (only third because it’s more common than the other two) made by…get ready…you guessed it! My Mom! Her Outrageous Chocolate Cake.

Mom!!! Are you reading this? Are you getting my psychic cake messages? My plan is wooorrrrkiing, mwahahahahaha!

So anyway. If you email me this week and I don’t answer, it’s cause I’m on the elliptical, sweating off the carrot before my Mom’s Easter cake.

I love chocolate cake of any kind…except processed cakes like Devil Dogs and Ring Dings. These pre-packaged chocolate cakes give cake a bad name. As an avowed chocaholic, I also love white cakes with raspberry preserve filling.

YUM. Strangely enough, my 5yo loves watching the cake challenge show on Food Network. Except for the mean judge. She doesn’t like that part.

If I remember correctly, your brownies are one of the more desirable items at the Butler Silent Auction. Most number of bids and definitely the tasty-est item in the auction.
