Hijacked!

No, not Lindsay. Her blog. Although now that I think about it, I may have seriously alarmed many of you with my choice of words. I mean, considering how many different airplanes that crazy woman has been on this month…yikes. No worries, though – she’s fine. 🙂

BUT, while she “rockstars it up” on her Bloggy Conference Tour – Feb 2010, (I hear the Tour Tagline is “Spellcheck? We don’t need no stinkin’ spellcheck!”), I’m taking this opportunity to break into the house, put my feet up on the coffee table and raid her snack cabinet. (Figuratively.)

But where are my manners? We haven’t been properly introduced! I’m Ri O’Laughlin, aka Music Savvy Mom. Lindsay and I are like sisters. (She’s Marcia and I’m Jan.) Or maybe she’s Lucy to my EthelShirley to my Laverne? You get the idea – we’re tight, I think she’s aces, and when I realized that her whirlwind schedule was leaving her precious little time to spend here…I decided that I’d descend on you unsuspecting folks and say howdy! (insert mental picture of big grin and frantic waving HERE.) Now, I know…you’re used to Lindsay’s coherent, thoughtful writing style and dearth of parenthetical expression, but go with me here – I grow on you. Much like moss…or mold.

See gang – while Lindsay is great with the “Rockstar Mom Lifestyle”…I’m a Music Mom of a different ilk. (Mainly because I have a boring life and very little style to begin with.) What I DO have is a passion for music, an insanely large digital music collection and a quirky habit of creating playlists that serve as soundtracks for my life. I’m feeling really cranky? I need a playlist. I’m totally not motivated to clean the house? I make a playlist. Going to Texas on vacation? I make a playlist. I know it’s not normal, but it can prove entertaining – and it is that which I share with you now.

Tonight’s theme? Well, TRAVELING, of course! In honor of Our Girl’s whirlwind tear through countless airports, baggage carousels and taxis, I give you the “February Flygirl Mix”. Now, bear in mind…my playlist criteria does not include the mandate that these songs actually “go” together. You may get country followed by electronica. What? I’m eclectic.

Enjoy the tunes while we wait for our favorite Rockin’ Mama to get back…and if you’re bored in the meantime…you could come visit me. I’ve ALWAYS got pie. Just sayin’…

Good to see you over here! I thought about doing a blog swap at some point, but lost touch with the one person who was semi-interested. Oh well. I'm not that intriguing anyway. I love your February Flygirl playlist! I need to name mine, especially if I'm going to use some music with most of my posts from here on out. But my creativity is still on vacation somewhere apart from me. I hope it's having a good time, and comes back with many an entertaining story to tell, as I am sure Rock and Roll Mama will :)
