Going through my Twitter stream this morning, I came across this tweet from @livenationDC- “Why we love music, example 3148…Dance like nobody is watching. Be sure to watch the whole thing!”
Intrigued, I clicked through to Youtube, where I see one guy on a hillside at Sasquatch Music festival, who may have been under some kind of chemical influence. He’s rocking out to Santigold by himself, oblivious to onlookers.
Then one other guy comes and begins mimicking his dance moves- I had a hard time telling if this dude was really admiring his style or mocking it- but it doesn’t really matter, because then a third man decided to join the party, and what happens next is nothing short of amazing…sociology in action. The desire to belong, to identify, to gather around a campfire via music. It’s pretty cool. Check it out:
