Thank goodness for you all, for a minute there I was like, “well, maybe I’m just missing it, and it’s really cool- but, no. I just watched the video again, and they got it wrong. That’s not rock, that’s Karaoke- which is fun, don’t get me wrong- but just- No.

Kim- so agree on the Girls Rock camps! I so love love love what they do- they’re keeping little girls from growing up and thinking this is how women rock, that it’s all either madonna or whore. We’re both, %^MKYT. Mad love to you ladies for being yo badA$$ selves.

I’ve been to Girls Rock Camps and I’ve volunteered for GRC-DC and the women that run those shows and teach those girls and have kick ass bands? They rock. That is rock.

Yeah, I'm thinking that was more like a Pussycat Dolls tryout gone wrong. Remember rockin' mamas like Crissy Hines? Or what about Sheryl Crow? They're talented and hot... and know how to keep it real. Maybe DIY was trying to capitalize on the Love Bus and all those other ridiculous "reality" contests. Real “hot rocker moms” don’t need anyone else’s approval or validation, they’re just strong, beautiful, rockin’ women.

Isn’t that exactly what we don’t want our kids to do? Look to others for approval and self worth???

Thanks, Jane. I think it just frustrates me because I see so many moms who rock all teh time- Annie Sidley at Mamapalooza the other week, the Mydols, Housewives on Prozac, Annie D or Liz Phiar, for goodness’ sake. Those Moms ROCK. These moms are being encouraged to hooch it out and call it rock, and it’s just not my scene.
