In the big Apple…

Date August 6, 2008

I took the train to the big city today, and got lots of good Twilight reading done on the way. I’m so glad I didn’t start reading those books when they first came out, or I would have been straight geeking for years, waiting and waiting. I would have taken to reading fan-fic. So far, Breaking Dawn is living up to expectations. I won’t give away any plot points.

Tomorrow, I’ll be at the Backspace Writers Conference, soaking up the knowledge like…someone help me with the Beasties quote. Something about Galileo. I’m working in a cafe, as my hotel has no internet (it seemed like such a minor inconvenience on paper- NOT!) In a little bit, I’ll be going over to the Algonquin Hotel to meet some conference folks and meet a few faces. My friend Sarah will be here tomorrow, and I’ll be ducking out of the conference for meetings periodically. Might as well make the most of a trip, right?

I sent a query out on HARO yesterday for sources for th ebook, and oh my goodness there are so many fun and talented people in the world. Of coure I knew that, but how fun to have them fill my inbox. It’s been a truly amazing experience. Happy Birthday, Peter Shankman, you HARO guru!

All right, rock and roll people, I’d better do some actual work before my battery runs out- seems like there’s plenty of WIFI in New York, but very few power outlets- I hope Panera doesn’t catch on to that.

All the best, xoxo, L

Itried and tried but could not come up with Beastie lyrics to fit your conundrum. It’s killing me. Made my Agent Orange and my OCD kick in. Damn you. Good luck!
