Mixtape Monday/Link Love

Hello Friends, I hope you had a lovely weekend. Did you hear that? I sounded just like Mr Rogers for  a minute. I miss that man.

The Lovely Myra at We Make Three has kindly featured me in her Mixtape Monday…just a few of my favorite tunes, although I will say it is feverishly hard to narrow them down.

I’d also like to shout out to Heather at Spohrs are Multiplying, as her beautiful friend Jackie is undergoing really scary brain surgery today. Heather is an amazing writer, and seems like such a great friend to Jackie…read the post about the Party Where 17 men Shaved their Heads in Solidarity.

And in other blog news, my longtime friend Corey has joined the blogging world. I’ve known Corey since 7th grade science class, when he and several other cohorts gave Mrs. DeFries a nervous breakdown (No. Seriously. She was ripe for it, but they helped it along…ok, maybe it would have happened anyway.) I knew he was cool when I saw him tossing something up and down the hallway with another boy. The teacher saw him and shouted something, and he replied, “Just tossing the pigskin!” and it was a fetal pig from a jar.

How dope is that?

Corey, if I’ve gotten it wrong, correct me in the comments: my mom says I have an insanely wacked out memory, prone to hyperbole and fits of untruth. I’m like DUH, Mom. I’m a WRITER.

But this really did happen: I picked up the phone on Sunday to hear, “Hi, this is Danielle? From the Internet?” The lady at the Helm of Captain Porkchops! We’d emailed about getting together soon, and I was going to be passing her neighborhood on Sunday. Didn’t work out this time, but Danielle, I can’t wait to hang out. So nice to talk to a real live blogger and put the voice behind the awesomely funny words I’m used to on screen.
